#CamdenHighline: Camden Gardens park is getting a new look and you can get involved!
Last March, we were awarded £25K funding by the Ministry of Housing, Communities & Local Government to make improvements to our very own local green space: Camden Gardens park. Located beneath the western end of the Highline route, you will see it as you enter Camden from Kentish Town.
The park represents a wonderful extension to the Highline project which will offer greener walking options to locals and tourists as well as redefining the Northern London Streetscape (learn more about the project here).
Further than improving the aesthetic and physical qualities of the park, the project aims to set up activities linked to the #CamdenHighline: on top of being a relaxing stop, the park will also become the start of walking tours as well as a space that facilitates education workshops with schools.
While we will be collaborating with architectural practice Studio MUTT to make the future improvements, we are currently focusing on clearing the site of debris ahead of its larger-scale makeover. If you are interested in learning more about the project and seeing it develop first hand, you are invited to volunteer with us on the 19th September.
All equipment will be provided, but volunteers should come appropriately clothed for the couple of hours. This will be a great opportunity to participate in making Camden’s streetscape as lovely as possible (encouraged by the possibility of a greatly deserved drink afterwards!). To get involved or get more information, please register via our Eventbrite page.
